What if I have a question not answered in the FAQ?

I've never purchased software over the Internet!

Purchasing software over the Internet is safe, easy and convenient. Some of the software is available for free trial which means you can run it for a period of time without paying. If you decide you don't like the program, simply uninstall it from your computer and pay nothing.
While other packages require you to pay before you can run them, at OPERA Tech®, you don't have to pay until after you've downloaded the software completely and are able to run it. This way, if the download fails or becomes damaged, you will not have a charge on your credit card.

Is it safe?

The purchase transaction is protected by powerful RSA encryption. Measures have been taken to protect against viruses. It is recommended that you always check for viruses before accepting any download from the web.

Will my credit card number be safe?

Yes! The purchase transactions are encrypted. Although paying online is becoming more common, some people are still nervous about entering their credit card number into a computer screen. Our agency who processes our purchasing transactions does several things to safeguard the transaction. They use RSA encryption which is the most powerful security technology currently available.
If you still feel uncomfortable about paying over the Internet, then don't do it! You can always pay for any of these software programs over the telephone, by mail or by fax. No matter how you choose to pay, be assured the transaction is secure.
Please consult the Purchasing web page for your purchasing options.

How can I buy software without receiving a box?

You'll be downloading a complete copy of the software into your computer. Everything you need, including comprehensive documentation, is included electronically! We do not offer a CD and paper manual to complement a downloaded purchase.

What if my hard disk crashes?

We recommend you safeguard your registration information. When needed, just reinstall the software and enter the Registration Information. For additional peace of mind, we keep complete confidential records each time you buy a copy of software electronically. So if your hard disk crashes and you do not have your Registration Information, we will be able to quickly get you up and running with another copy of the program in no time. Just e-mail service@shareit.com if you have any additional questions about Registration Information.

What if my download doesn't work?

Since you don't pay for the software until after you have downloaded it, just try it again. If you have repeated problems, contact us by sending an e-mail to support@operatech.com.

What if I have trouble with the software after download and installation?

Please e-mail us at support@operatech.com. We'll take care of the rest!

What are my payment options?

Please consult the Purchasing web page for your purchasing options.

When does the trial period expire?

The trial time varies by product. The first screen that appears upon launch will indicate the number of days in your trial. When the period has expired, you must purchase the software if you would like to continue using it. Otherwise, just uninstall the trial version and forget about it!

Is my transaction information secure?

The transaction technology is secure to pass Electronic Software Distribution (ESD). Our distributors uses RSA's security architecture to protect ESD transactions over the Internet.

How do I get a receipt?

After you have successfully completed your electronic purchase, you will receive a receipt via e-mail. If you have additional questions, please e-mail service@shareit.com.

How can I reinstall software purchased via ESD?

If you purchased software through Try-before-you-buy ESD, reinstall the downloaded software and launch the program. The security files which maintain purchase information remain on your computer. That way you will be able to launch the software automatically without paying again.

If you have experienced a system crash, or have had to reformat your hard drive, your installers and security files are probably gone or damaged. Don't worry - Reinstall the program and enter the Registration Information. If you do not have your Registration Information, e-mail service@shareit.com for help.

How do I backup or restore software purchased via ESD?

If you purchased software through Try-before-you-buy ESD, your ESD software depends on registry and system files for security. If an entire backup of your computer, including your registry, is done correctly, your ESD software will restore itself correctly and your registered version will remain valid.

If you have experienced a system crash, or have had to reformat your hard drive, your installers and security files are probably gone or damaged. Don't worry - Reinstall the program and enter the Registration Information. If you do not have your Registration Information, e-mail service@shareit.com for help.

I purchased software through ESD and now I would like a CD-based version instead. How do I get one?

Software purchased through ESD comes with everything you need to use your OPERA Tech® software, including extensive online documentation. We do not offer a CD and paper manual to complement a downloaded purchase.

I purchased software through ESD and I would like to install it on my computer at home. Is there a way that I can do this without purchasing another copy?

As long as you have control over the use of both computers, so that only one person will be using the one copy of the software at one time, you may install a second copy at home at no additional charge. However, if both computers and therefore both copies of the software may be used at one time, you must purchase an additional copy of the software. To install a purchased ESD version of the software on another machine, e-mail service@shareit.com for help.

I purchased software through ESD, I also have purchased another computer, and I would like to transfer the software to my new computer. Must I purchase another copy of the software to do so?

As long as you delete the software from your first computer, you may install a copy of the same version on your new computer. E-mail service@shareit.com for help.

I changed the date on my computer and now my ESD trial software has expired! How can I use the trial again?

ESD trial software is built with high security and is sensitive to changes in system dates. Before you launch any trial software, be sure your system date is set properly. If your ESD trial has expired prematurely because you have altered your system date, simply quit and restore your original system date to resume usage of your trial.

Why does my ESD trial version expire before it was designed to be expired?

The copyright protection scheme created for ESD trial software is highly sensitive to changes and to attempts to change the system clock. The copyright protection scheme is also highly sensitive to modification or deletion of its "secret" security files.

Why can't I run my ESD trial software on Windows? My ESD software was installed by an administrator. I then rebooted and logged on with my user name, and the trial instantly timed out.

OPERA Tech's ESD technology requires read/write access to the Registry, Windows and Windows/System directories otherwise the software does not work. If you are experiencing problems using ESD trial software installed under your specific user profile, please e-mail support@operatech.com.
